Welcome to our article,
I am writing this diary, because there are things that happen in the world, that we would like to
understand and remember when they happened. Hereunder is an accident that has
happened to an illegal migrant boat in Calabria Italy, in early March 2023 (And
I quote)
An accident involving an overloaded migrant boat that sank near
the southern Italian city of Crotone on Sunday morning has killed 59 people,
the mayor said.
“As of a few minutes ago, the number of confirmed victims was
59,” Vincenzo Voce told television channel SkyTG24.
Earlier, the coastguard and police said 43 people had died and
80 had survived after the boat crashed against rocks.
The shipwreck took place near Steccato di Cutro, a seaside
resort on the eastern coast of Calabria, the region that forms the tip of
Italy’s boot.
The boat was carrying about 120 people and hit rocks “a few
metres from the shore”, the coastguard said, saying the search for other
possible survivors was still on.
The Mayor of Cutro, Antonio Ceraso, told SkyTG24 that women and children were among the dead.
He said the migrants’ wooden boat had “disintegrated” amid
stormy sea conditions, with parts of the wreckage strewn across some 300 metres
of the coast.
His voice cracking up, Ceraso said he witnessed “a spectacle
that you would never want to see in your life … a gruesome sight … that stays
with you for all your life”. (End of quote)
Here I want to point out that a lot of people do not care about
this, since it is not on the news as much as it needs to be, to have an impact
on the people, it is as if it is normal. In a way it has become normal, since
there are illegal emigrants from Africa coming in every day, but these people
seem to have come from Turkey, perhaps it was the earthquake, that has prompted
them to embark on this unseaworthy vessel.
Anyhow, illegal emigrants are a real problem for Italy. So, they
want to try to do something about it, like what says hereunder. (And I quote).
Italy’s Senate Signs Off on
Meloni’s Migrant Crackdown
The package is the first
major take on immigration by the hard-right government of Prime Minister
Giorgia Meloni and would limit integration and create more detention
facilities. (End of quote).
Anyhow, I believe that this is something that the entire world
must work out, how to stop these illegal emigrants leaving their native land,
or at least control their number, so that people will not die. Now let us look
at something else.

FILE - Floral tributes and candles are placed outside the
Jehovah's Witness building in Hamburg, Germany, on March 10, 2023, the site
where several people were killed last night in a rampage during a Jehovah's
Witness event. Jehovah’s Witnesses held a memorial service in Hamburg on
Saturday March 25, 2023 for the victims of shooting at a church congregation in
the German port city earlier this month.
CNN —
Germany was in shock on Friday after a gunman
killed six people as well as an unborn child at a Jehovah’s Witnesses center in
Hamburg, before turning the gun on himself as police stormed the building.
The attacker, a 35-year old German national, was a
former member of the Jehovah Witnesses community, according to Hamburg’s state
prosecutor.
German police are still searching for a possible
motive after the shooter opened fire on an event attended by 50 people on
Thursday evening. ”Hamburg has never seen a mass shooting like this,” Interior
Minister Andy Grote said at a press conference on Friday.
The gunman acted alone, Grote said. ”There could
have been more victims if police had not intervened so quickly,” he said.
-----------------------------
Anyhow, this is the first time that I know, that a
Jehovah’s Witness turns violent, I believe that these people are peaceful
people, but as you know sometimes things are not as they seem to be.

There are still some good people in the world.
COLLEYVILLE
(CBSNewsTexas.com) – It's been about a month since a
devastating earthquake hit Syria and Turkey. The death toll is now sitting at
50,000.
For
the past two weeks, a local psychiatrist was on the ground, helping survivors
with their mental health.
"Seeing
things in person always brings things into perspective," Dr. Nora Abdullah
said. "So many people are sleeping in tents only because they don't know
when the next earthquake will happen. They don't know if they can even go home
to a place that could potentially fall to the ground."
The
Dallas-based psychiatrist said she saw the toll it's taking on mental
health.
"Most
people that you would see in Turkey or Syria now are just terrified," she
said.
Working
with the nonprofit MedGlobal, she joined other doctors to provide
support.
For
her, this trip was personal.

The war that may not achieve anything.
The Ukraine war is a war that might not achieve anything, because
at the end of it there will be a lot of dead people on both sides, and the
people that survive, some will still be pro-Russian, and the others independent
Ukrainians, this is how it works out at boundaries, and Ukraine is on the
boundary between east and west Europe, so, some people like this side and some
like that side. Anyhow, nobody in Ukraine is going to gain anything. So, this
war is useless. But let us see what is happening now. (And I quote from the
internet).
Reuters)
- President Vladimir Putin made a surprise visit to Mariupol, Russian state
media reported on Sunday, in what would be the Kremlin leader's first trip to
the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine's Donbas region since the start of
the war.
The
visit came after Putin travelled to Crimea on Saturday in an unannounced visit
to mark the ninth anniversary of Russia's annexation of the peninsula from
Ukraine, and just two days after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued
an arrest warrant for the Russian leader.
Mariupol,
which fell to Russia in May after one of the war's longest and bloodiest
battles, was Russia's first major victory after it failed to seize Kyiv and
focused instead on southeastern Ukraine.
(Second
quote). ROME (Reuters) - Italy will continue to
back Ukraine against Russia even if this dents the Rome government's approval
ratings, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Tuesday, as polls show that
military aid to Kyiv is unpopular with voters.

Russia watching for new Western sanctions, says they would hit world
economy
Story by Reuters • Yesterday

(Reuters) - The
Kremlin said on Friday it was monitoring reports of a possible ban on exports
to Russia by Western countries, and that new sanctions would damage the global
economy.
"We
are carefully monitoring this, we are aware that both the U.S. and the EU are
actively considering new sanctions," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told
reporters.
"We
believe that both the current sanctions against the Russian Federation and the
new additional steps that the US and the EU may be thinking about now will, of
course, also hit the global economy. Therefore, this may lead to an increase in
the trend towards a worldwide economic crisis."
(End
of quotes).
My
own views on this war, is that it could have been avoided, and the entire world
would have been better off. But even now, if they could find a way to stop this
war, we all would be better off. The world has already many problems to solve,
like diseases and global warming to name a few.
Anyhow, I believe that this article is becoming too long. So, see you in our next article.
